Today I took Luci to get a hair cut. It needed to be evened out. A little history:
We let our children use scissors (not Cooper of course). Luci loves to cut. She will spend hours cutting paper into confetti and then putting it in little baggies to "give to Mrs. Carolyn." I have no idea why she thinks Carolyn would want these shreds, but I'm sure Carolyn would act excited (she's nice like that) if we ever delivered them to her.
We have spent much time going over the rules of scissors. Only cut paper- not clothes, not hair, not people. Don't run with scissors. Don't leave scissors where Cooper can get them....
The other day I notice a little chunk out of Luci's hair in the front. Here is the conversation that followed:
Me: Luci, who cut your hair?
Luci: My friend at school.
Me: You haven't been to school, so how did that happen?
Luci: Bencharlie (said as one name) did it.
Me: I don't think so. Ben and Charlie are big boys and they would NEVER cut hair. They only cut paper. Did you cut your hair?
Luci: Well (looking guilty)......I couldn't see.
I guess it seemed like a good enough solution for her. Mark later found one big red curl under the table where she was sitting :(
