Yes. We had a mouse. I'm embararrased to post it here, but if I don't then I can't tell you about the funny events that followed.
Mike and Jenny were here and we were just relaxing after the kids went to bed and the little pipsqueek just ran across the hall. Jenny spotted him! He was perfectly comfortable paying our guests a visit.
We scoured the house and cleaned every nook and cranny, but couldn't find him. Mark came back from the store with a small arsenal of gear to catch the mouse.
The mission was a success! The next day Mark declared that we had caught the mouse. Here is the conversation that followed:
Ben: Can we see it?
Mommy: No, honey, it's dead and it's pretty sad to see.
(A few minutes go by while the kids are deep in thought......)
Ben: I think I should see it, mom. I need to say a prayer for him.

Ben should come to our house if he wants to view dead critters. Julia understands that animals die -- especially all the various ones she captures in her travels. She doesn't mind the dying, she just doesn't like the disposing. All Ben has to do is come on in and look in our freezer. You'd be amazed how well lizards and grasshoppers and tropical fish preserve in sub-zero baggies! And they come in various sizes, too!
