The Camera Post

I have heard from so many friends and family since the blog started. I love it!

The most popular question is, "What kind of camera do you have?"

I have this camera

Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi

:

and these lenses:

Canon Normal EF 50mm f/1.8 II Autofocus Lens

Canon Zoom Wide Angle-Telephoto EF 28-105mm f/4-5.6 USM Autofocus Lens

The links are all to B & H Photo, which I love. Great prices and great service.

Now, it is a beautiful camera and takes excellent pictures, but there is a bit of a learning curve. In order to take advantage of all the camera has to offer, I had to learn to shoot in manual mode. I also LOVE the look of natural light photography and I'm still learning how to improve with that. Here is a great book that helps me a lot:

If you don't want to deal with the technical aspects of photography and/or don't want to spend a boatload of money, Canon also makes some great point and shoot cameras. Here are some other great cameras that we have used (priced high to low):

Canon PowerShot G9 Digital Camera

Canon Powershot S5 IS Digital Camera (awesome video mode on this - see the Bongo post)

Canon PowerShot SD1000 Digital Elph Digital Camera (Silver)
